01 / FEEL UNDERSTOOD

When movement feels like guesswork.

13-guesswork-underline-raspberry.png

You’re thinking about how to move, rather than feeling it.

Explore sensation and support, without having to get every movement “right”.

You swing between pushing through and stopping.

Learn to recognise the difference between useful challenge and pushing through—so you have more options than all-or-nothing.

You’ve seen other practitioners and followed the advice—and you’re still looking for an approach that makes sense for your body.

Here, we take time to notice how you respond, explore what changes and build your strength, confidence and capacity from what we learn.

02 / YOUR TEACHER

Hi, I’m Ali.

What changes when you start to notice?

I’m a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher and hypermobility practitioner—and I live in a hypermobile body myself. I often work with people who are very good at pushing through, but less certain how to recognise the quieter signals their body is giving them.

Sometimes more effort creates more gripping, bracing and disconnection. Doing a little less can make room for more control, connection and usable strength. At other times, your body needs more challenge—not less. The cool part is learning to tell the difference.

That’s where my interests in hypermobility, persistent symptoms and nervous-system regulation meet my Pilates teaching. For me, movement is not only exercise—it’s a way of understanding ourselves better.

03 / THE APPROACH

Notice.
Understand.
Build.

Equipment Pilates uses springs to make movement clearer, more assisted or more challenging. Rather than chasing a perfect shape, we use the apparatus to explore what your body notices and how it responds.

This is my framework in practice: notice what is happening, understand what helps, then build confidence, capacity and choice from there.

1

Notice

Feel what's happening in your body, where effort is, where support changes, where tension arrives before you've consciously registered it.

2

Understand

Explore how load, pace and position affect the way your body responds. Learn what genuinely helps, rather than what you've been told should help.

3

Build

Develop confidence, capacity and real choice in how you move, not just in the studio, but in real life.

04 / YOUR FIRST SESSIONS

Time to explore.
A place to
begin.

RECOMMENDED STARTING OPTION

Three 1:1 sessions

One session can tell us a lot. Three give us time to notice patterns, try different options, see how your body responds between sessions, and build on what works.

05 / CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Understanding.
Confidence.
More possibility.

Pain has reduced almost to zero, and I’m getting stronger doing something I love.

06 / ROOM TO GROW

Start one-to-one.
See what suits you next.

From there, you can continue privately, move into a duet or join a carefully matched group of up to four—when it makes sense for you.

1 - FOCUSED

1:1 Pilates

Continue with focused one-to-one attention. Move at your pace, deepen your awareness and build on what you’re learning about your body.

2 - SHARED

Duet sessions

Move alongside one other person, with individual guidance for each of you. Available once we’ve worked together one-to-one and know a duet is a good fit.

3 - SMALL GROUP

Semi-private

A maximum of four people—intentional, unhurried and still genuinely personal. Once we’ve worked together one-to-one, I’ll help you find a group where the pace and dynamic are a good fit for everyone.
