Step inside Moxie.

A light-filled Pilates studio in Caterham, with the full range of apparatus—not just reformers.

A feel for the studio.

Natural light, a garden outlook, and space to concentrate without taking ourselves too seriously. There’s time to ask questions and have a laugh along the way.

More than a reformer.

Different equipment changes what you can feel, how you’re supported and where the challenge comes from. I’ll introduce you to the equipment as we use it.

The reformer.

The moving carriage and springs give you feedback as you push, pull and return. We can change the support and resistance, so you can notice what helps you move with more control.

The Cadillac & tower.

A steady base lets you reach, press and pull against springs from different directions. Changing the attachment or position helps you notice where you’re supported and how much effort you need.

The chair.

Small, but surprisingly demanding. Its sprung pedals give us plenty of ways to work on strength, balance and coordination.

The ladder barrel.

The curved surface supports you as you bend, reach and extend. The ladder gives your hands or feet a steady contact, making it easier to sense the movement and adjust your range.

The spine corrector.

The smaller arc supports you as you curl, extend or rotate. Its shape gives you a clear point of contact, so you can adjust the movement rather than force a bigger range.

And the smaller things.

Balls, bands, rings, rollers and light weights can change the feedback or resistance in a movement. Sometimes one small change makes it easier to sense what you’re doing and find a way that works for you.
